A School/LEA that signs up for this package has 1-20 students that require accommodations through a 504 plan and desires support in implementing the federal and state requirements associated with these students. SPEDCO staff will assist the school team to determine eligibility, design the 504 plan, and conduct the annual review for each eligible student. School/LEAs may purchase multiple packages to meet the needs of all eligible students.

  • Develop IEP caseload spreadsheet to track compliance with timeline requirements

  • Implementation of PIP action steps

  • Design and implement a system of progress reporting

  • Assist teachers with a system to document observation and supervision of paraeducators

  • Select, train, and coach on data collection system for IEP goals

  • Attend RDA meetings (estimated 30 hours)

  • Organize and support UPIPS visit (estimated 15 hours)

  • Corrections oversight for UPIPS (estimated 15 hours)

  • Serve as the special education teacher at IEP & eligibility meetings (estimated 3 hours per IEP,  5 per eligibility)

  • Professional Development beyond what is provided in the purchased package (estimated 3 hours for each hour presenting

  • Corrective action that is not associated with dispute resolution

  • Draft applications for funding or grants, customized teacher coaching

  • Respond to staff and parent questions related to assessment

  • Attend eligibility and IEP meetings

  • Consultation and guidance for school staff on conflict resolution strategies

  • Coach school staff through preventative dispute resolution options

  • Direct challenging meetings on behalf of school team

  • Guide school staff through procedures to access no-cost USBE services

  • Assist school teams to gather and submit documentation required for IDEA or OCR complaint investigation

  • Respond to complaint investigation interviews

  • Assist school staff in accessing the mediation process

  • Assist school staff in preparing for due process hearing

  • Provide expert testimony during due process hearings 

  • Provide training as the result of dispute resolution outcomes

  • Coordinate services required by dispute resolution outcomes
